The Stop Climate Shakedowns Act of 2026 (S. 4340 / H.R. 8330), brought by Sen. Cruz (R-TX) and Rep. Hageman (R-WY) represent Congress’s first decisive action to protect American energy.

Reclaims Constitutional Article I Authority

Confirms that major energy policy decisions with nationwide impacts must be handled through transparent federal legislative processes.

Establishes a Uniform National Standard

Explicitly designates the federal government as the sole and exclusive regulatory authority over national energy policies and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, narrowing the risk of patchwork of state mandates.

Protects Industry While Retaining Real Accountability
